how do you simplify this complex fraction?

2+13/w + 6/w2
_____________

1+11/w + 30/w2

-
Multiply both numerator and denominator by w^2 to get:

( 2w^2 + 13w + 6 ) / ( w^2 + 11w + 30 )

Factor:

(2w+1)(w+6) / (w+5)(w+6)

Cancel the common factor of (w+6):

(2w+1) / (w+5)

or if you prefer: 2 - 9/(w+5)
