1. Describe the structure (including the monomers and how they're put together) and functions of two of the four macromolecules.

2. Why are catalysts and enzymes funtions important to living things?

-Lipids are made up of long carbon chains and usually have an acidic group at the end of it. Lipids are used in the fats we eat, as well as the membranes that make up all of our cells.
-Proteins are made of amino acids that form peptide bonds. Due to the different charges of the amino acids, it causes the polypeptide to fold in a specific shape to make it into a protein. The protein then can be used for a specific function, like a catalyst.

Catalysts and enzyme function are important because they help a lot of the reactions in our body work. If they did not help, then the activation energy for many of our bodily reactions would be too high and would not work spontaneously.

Active and Passive transport - Active requires ATP and is the movement of cargo against a concentration gradient, while passive is movement with a concentration gradient. They happen in order to drive a process to work, such as when ATP is created, there is a proton gradient that is moved through a passive transporter. (That was the best example I could think up quickly.)
