is it just assumed? cus even tho they layed eggs they could have had feathers or been a special kind of mammal that layed eggs...like humans dont have opposable toes yet were still primates...so im sure dinosaurs didnt have to have all the characteristics of a reptile?

All that can be said is that there is no evidence that dinosaurs had hair. You can speculate endlessly about things there is no evidence for. Maybe dinosaurs had gold earrings.

i guess it would depend on the animal but theres no way to know for sure because we cant really go back in time and see, the fossils are so old that they wouln't have any hair on them at all
