"DNA & genes have no influence on the design of the creature" - Actually, our genes determine our phenotype.
Evolution is considered a theory, but to me, it makes sense and is logical. It explains how organisms change over time by adapting to different environments - mutation, genetic drift etc are ways this happens. There's nothing blind about it. :X

Try thinking of it through this... I guess this would sort of be an analogy; everything started out relatively the same.
When they moved to different parts of the world, they became adapted to their environment. This happens due to subtle differences - for example, creatures with slightly thicker coats will survive better in sub-zero temperatures, so will live on to pass down this gene of thick coats.
Then, changes in the environment create different species. A fire will weed out animals with shorter legs in a particular area, since they were not able to run away from the fire. Thus, we will have two different "species," one with longer legs and one with shorter legs. These subtle differences eventually define the species.
There is nothing blind about this - it is merely creatures adapting to their environment. Understand? :)

lol yes they do, your assumptions are incorrect
