im doing a science project and im having trouble finding out the function of the retina. PLS HELP!
-
The retina is responsible for collecting light to create an image. It is made of a layer of light-sensitive cells called rods and cones. These cells collect the light and send an electric impulse down the optic nerve to the brain where it interprets the image.

the retina is like a movie screen, which show you the picture you are seeing upside down. the retina converts light rays into electric signals which are sent to the brain. the brain then translates the image into what we call sight. the retina has two types of cells the rods and cones. the rods show you black and white while the comes show you colour.
