Your Open Question: Problems of animal survival!!please help me!?
The problems of survival of animals on land are very different from those of animals in the aquatic environment but what exactly are the 4 problems assoicated with survival in terrestrial environments that are not encountered in aquatic environments? If you can answer this for me can you use an example of an animal to describe an evolutionary solution to this problem?thanks so much.biology is hard when you can't find the correct answers anywhere.

Well, think it through...
In the ocean, or at the bottom of a deep pond or lake, the temperature is pretty constant, isn't it? But here, in the last week, we've had 90 degrees AND 34 degrees (35 C and 1 C!). That's a pretty big temperature range. The ocean water might change a few degrees over the year, but mostly on the surface. Deep water doesn't change temperature at all, really. So, how DO animals adapt to the major changes in temperature? They'll need an adaptation not just to extreme cold, but also a way to keep cool when it's really hot out. That might count as two answers.....
A second one. Compare a camel to a horse. They live in very different environments, right? So they are very different. How does a camel keep from dehydrating? It's not a problem in the ocean or a river, because you are always surrounded by water! But in the air, you can dry out... So what have animals grown or created or how do they keep from having all the water evaporate out of them?
Finally, if you want to grow really big in the water, it's not too hard. The water supports you and holds you up. You don't need thick, heavy, strong legs and massive backbones to support your weight. In fact, you can be like a shark...and be all cartilage! All soft, flexible material, the only "bone" in your body around your mouth! If you tried to do that on land, you'd be a flat puddle of squashed muscle and goo! So think about how we've had to adapt to hold our weight up on land.
That should head you in the right way to think about this problem. Other problems we face...well, look at all the tornadoes in the east and south US last week and yesterday! Hurricanes, too, are a big problem. Not a real issue if you live under the water, though, are they? So think about weather, and what animals have had to do to survive some of the nasty storms that come through.
Good luck, hope these resources help you figure out how to answer the problems. A lot of things in life are NOT going to be easy to find in books and such. You have to start THINKING as school gets harder. Anyone can memorize...but your teachers now expect you to apply that knowledge and figure things out. If you can't...you will have some very upset bosses!
