Asteroid In 2029?
What is the name of the asteroid that may strike earth 13 years after 2029 if it goes through the KEY HOLE?
-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
Paula say: Apophis, which is an asteroid about 200 meters in effective diameter.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99942_Apop...

It orbits the sun every 323 days, but usually does not pass near the earth.
In 2029 it will pass near the earth again, and its size can then be determined more accurately than it is currently known.

With each close pass to the earth, its future course can be computed.
At the present time, it is not expected to collide with earth.
Assuredly in 2029 it will be the focus of much scrutiny.

Ronald 7 say: 99942 Apophis
The chances of it hitting that Magic Keyhole is slim
So lets wait
-
Morningfox say: 99942 Apophis has about 1 in 112,000 chance of hitting Earth sometime before the year 2105. I would worry more about (29075) 1950 DA, with odds of 1 in 8,300 of a hit in the year 2880. With a diameter of 1.1 km, an impact would be devastating to civilization.

Peter T say: (99942) Apophis (previously known as 2004 MN4).
Apophis will miss the keyhole at the 2029 close approach that would have led to an impact in 2036.
At present the highest rated risk for this object is a possible impact in 2068 which would follow another close approach in 2051 (in turn dependent on the exact position at the 2029 pass).

CarolOklaNola say: 99942 Apophis. It did NOT go through the keyhole. An it is not going to impact Earth in 2036. Earth ended on December 21 or 26, 2012, more than 6 years ago, before Trump was elected POTUS. (Total sarcasm).

My left knee says I am still alive, So does the cat I adopted in December 3 2013 who looks rather strange right now since the vets office shaved her rear 36 hours ago to get the mats off. And there are 2 younger cats for the last 5 months.

Starrysky say: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99942_Apop...
"On average, one asteroid the size of Apophis (370 metres) can be expected to impact Earth about every 80,000 years."
And the meteor crater in Winslow, Arizona was caused by a 150 foot iron meteorite around 50,000 years ago. But please note the words "ON AVERAGE". No such strict scheduling exists. Unexpected impacts could happen any time. A series of 20 large ones hit Jupiter in a few hours.

Nana say: The extra data ruled out a collision in 2029. Instead, what we're going to have is an eye-popping close encounter: On April 13, 2029, asteroid 2004 MN4 will fly past Earth only 18,600 miles (30,000 km) above the ground. For comparison, geosynchronous satellites orbit at 22,300 miles (36,000 km).

SumDude say: DOOMSDAY - for suckers. ##Comment: LOL !! because I had astronomy in college, and because I have been on here long enough to see people ask doomsday questions every couple of years (starting with the 1999/2000 end of earth theory). P S I will not be here in 2043 ... but I bet the earth will survive.
-
say: The KEY

But apparently these guys love calling it 99942 Apophis more.

Edit: I don't take Astronomy.
