Why didnt NASA tell us about the approaching solar flares so that we can prepare

... what solar flare? can you provide links to where you got this information?

All those videos are BS. There is not one official video from NASA (or from anyone else) about a solar flare. Until a credible scientific institution comes out and says theres a solar flare, consider it a hoax.

Because it isn't NASA's responsibility, it's NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.

And they do tell us, just not you. By us I mean the people who are in positions where its important to know what the sun is doing at any given moment. They will alert power companies, Air lines that fly at high altitude, the FAA, NASA, the Air Force, and companies with global communication satellites. The average citizen isn't directly affected by space weather and is no position to do anything to prepare for it. Even the most powerful solar flares can't pass through the upper atmosphere to do anything harmful to people on the ground. But they can alter the Earths magnetic field which can induce currents on ground based technology that can be damaging to the technology. But telling you that isn't very useful since you don't have access to the type of technology which is most affected by space weather. Space weather also increase the level of radiation at the north and south poles. Some Airline routes travel over the poles and during a solar event Airlines reroute their flights to avoid the poles. They don't tell you this, because you don't fly planes over the north and south poles. If your still concerned about the esoteric ways that Space weather can affect us. Then you can go to this website http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ where you can freely observe continual monitoring of space weather.

Specific solar flare events can't be predicted very far in advance, only the general tendencies towards sunspot/flare activity.
