Is there anything, man-made or otherwise, currently located at the Lagrange point between the Earth and Sun, commonly denoted L1?

Yes. The SOHO observatory satellite is at the L1 point currently.
"...The L1 point of the Earth-Sun system affords an uninterrupted view of the sun and is currently home to the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory Satellite SOHO. The L2 point of the Earth-Sun system was the home to the WMAP spacecraft, current home of Planck, and future home of the James Webb Space Telescope. L2 is ideal for astronomy because a spacecraft is close enough to readily communicate with Earth, can keep Sun, Earth and Moon behind the spacecraft for solar power and (with appropriate shielding) provides a clear view of deep space for our telescopes. The L1 and L2 points are unstable on a time scale of approximately 23 days, which requires satellites orbiting these positions to undergo regular course and attitude corrections. ..."

SOHO is indeed at L1, the second answerer knows not of what he speaks, and should take care not to so authoritatively misinform people (EDIT: Yes, I'm talking to you, grayure. Why would you think that, anyway? Ever heard of the L5 Society?).
.
Technically, SOHO is in orbit *around* L1, but that amounts to the same thing.
.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I don't think SOHO is the first; I think COBE was at one of the Langrange points also, and the future James Webb Telescope is slated to park at L2, if I recall correctly. And the WMAP probe, as it turns out, is already at L2.

No Lagrange Points between any two bodies have ever been used by human technology in any way, and they never will be.
