It's a planet, goddammit!

Calm down, Chief! You're gonna pop a blood vessel.

Um, no, Triton is the largest moon of Neptune. Granted, it orbits in retrograde (likely a captured body), but now that it orbits another planet, it can only be referred to as a natural satellite, or moon.
However, I do believe your question is actually directed toward the demotion of Pluto from Planethood. Now Pluto, with at least 6 known moons, a spherical shape do to high mass, and gravity strong enough to perturb Neptune and Uranus's orbit that it's existance was predicted? I think they were in error to demote Clyde Tombough's discovery.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

If Triton held the majority of the mass of objects sharing its orbit, it would be a planet. Since Triton orbits a planet, it is a moon.

It was a planet many millions of years ago, but when the substitute refs came in, it was called a moon, and placed into orbit about Neptune. You can't change the call.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.

Yes, it's a planet. It just happens to look like a moon, be called a moon, and orbit a planet.

It never was a planet, so how can it "still" be a planet...?
