There are usually two solar eclipses a year, either partial or total. But a solar eclipse is visible from only a tiny fraction of the Earth's surface, and never from the same place in successive years. It would be centuries before a second eclipse is visible from the same place as a previous one.
I do not know whether the exact coordinates of solar eclipses have been calculated as far back as 600 BC. There could well have been an eclipse visible from Japan within a period of 75 years, but it is certain that there could not have been more than one. And it would seem doubtful that news of eclipses visible on the other side of the world could have reached Japan in that era. So I feel quite confident in saying that there would have been no more than one eclipse noted in Japan.
