Your assumption that astrologers know a fair amount about star stuff is quite wrong.

Sounds like you need to do some research on compulsions, constellation mythology, and maybe ever look at the constellation through a decent telescope.
The constellation of Orion and its suburbs have a lot of interesting features to explore. Everything from a star that might be going supernova, to stellar nurseries.

Far as anything astrological, your asking the wrong people. Astrology is simply meaningless junk.

The constellation is easy to find (this time of the year) and has a lot of bright stars. There is a movie company named Orion that uses the constellation in their logo at the start of the movie. Most astronomers don't like to be confused with astrologers: does it really make sense that the time you were born influences your personality? That being said, I like Orion too, and my birthday is also July 15!

The three st ars in Orion's "belt" stand out in the night sky this time of year, and may have archetypal significance, in other words, even though the stars move just a little, there would have been the same pattern in the ancient times when astrology was a science and was studied thus. So it would not be too surprising to feel a connection. Research 'archetype' in your search engine, and connect it with your current affinity with this pattern of stars.

Orion is one of the most distinctive and iconic constellations in the sky, being visible worldwide and very prominent in the northern hemisphere winter.
It is, however, not part of astrology, because we never see the planets in Orion.

They're not actually a group of stars. They're nowhere near each other. It's just an arbitrary pattern that we picked out, kind of like when you look up at the sky and think, "That cloud looks like a bunny rabbit."

Orion the hunter with his 2 dogs is a nice constellation
it has always been one of my favorites

I don't think you have any connection to them, that's all just superstition.
