just like any other calender, when the Mayan calender ends it just starts over. TSome also think the world will spontaneously flip upside down and the sun will be sucked into a black hole. Needless to say these people have never studied any form of science.........
People are scared of being dead, everyone is somewhere in their brain, I just want to leave my mark and leave eventually, personally. Imagine staying here forever...

i think that people are scared on this year because of the different issues which centralizes on the destruction of our planet. the media is a very powerful medium in delivering the frightening ideas of the people who are trying to make themselves popular in predicting such.
the one who gives meaning to a simple thing just like the Mayan calendar is the one who creates different ideas for a theory and they may even perceive it as a bad thing.
no one knows why did the mayan calendar end its days this year because there are no concrete evidences which proves why is it so.
the people are afraid to die.

Well its just scare tactics doesn't mean its going to happen but all religions have an "end time" and this one just is really popular because the mayans calendar end this december and also the christian bible has signs for the end of the world in the book of revolations but its so stupid like "economic failure" which happens what every 10 15years so people that believe are... well ignorant all the things leading up to end times in the bible can be put on almost anytime in WWII you can say the same things happened then and you can that again in the american revolution... economic colapse, wars in the holy land(been one ever other year for like 1000years now) and my favorite "famine" umm yeah famine doesn't even really mean anything anymore because you can famine is crops dieing, gas increaseing in price so it drives up food prices, almost anything can fall in that category... so all in all people that are saying it is going to happen are just trying to get attention by saying all these signs are there when in fact signs are always around and they don't mean ****
