How do we know space exists

But you need a decent science education to know what they are.For example, it is perfectly possible for ordinary people to set up an experiment to measure the distance to the moon.It involves carefully observing the moons position against the background stars from two distant locations on the earth, and applying some simple geometry.A somewhat easier method involves observations during solar eclipses.......

Anybody for a few hundred dollars can buy a telescope capable of showing most of the things you see as pictures in books and on the internet. With my telescope, I don't just look at tings, but I'm free to EXPLORE anything I choose in as much depth as I want.

20km in the sky. Planes would fly by it all of the time then. Honestly, you can just look up with a telescope from your backyard.

Interesting food for thought, but nothing significant.

Well, that is what an education is for, beside other things.

You don't seem to have any, hence you ask stupid questions.

Google Global Skepticism, valid yeah, pointless (albeit interesting)? also yeah.

Buy a telescope!? Lol jk

Well, if you think "the government and the media" are the source of all information, you need to get out more often. It is not necessary to take anybody's word for such things; there ARE WAYS to acquire such information without turning on the TV or surfing the web or reading a newspaper. But you need a decent science education to know what they are. For example, it is perfectly possible for ordinary people to set up an experiment to measure the distance to the moon. It involves carefully observing the moon's position against the background stars from two distant locations on the earth, and applying some simple geometry. A somewhat easier method involves observations during solar eclipses. The ancient Greeks did this over TWO THOUSAND years ago -- that's how THEY knew how far away the moon was, and their answer was within 7% of the distance we use today. They didn't give a hoot what the "government and the media" said about it.

The seasons are proof. The Pyramids are proof. I understand the "What if the government created the illusion of space thing?" Although, the pyramids are aligned with a few stars, and no government back then (along with modern government) could create the illusion of space. The sun provides heat for us, government can't create enough heat to heat the entire earth. The tides are proof. The tides are pulled by the sun and the moon. Asteroids are proof. Direct Tv/ Dish Network is proof. Cell phones are proof. Google is proof (anything that powerful has to be alien....jk). Google Earth is better proof. You can pay to go into outer space if you want more proof. I'm sure you can get one of the people who went to the moon on the phone, or kidnap them and beat the sh** out of them, and get them to tell you if its real or not (at the risk of them calling you a dumbf***).That's all I can think of for now, but I think it should be enough.
