Paradox to the Big Bang? If interested please answer

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-07-09] [Hit: ]
That would be counter-intuitive.Also, thats not what paradox means at all.-Science is not a matter of belief. Its a matter of evidence, and all the evidence points to the big bang.......

The big bang theory is currently the accepted standard model for the origin of the universe. If there was evidence against it, then it wouldn't be the standard. Scientists are expected to use it and accept it.

Scientists who don't accept the theory won't use it for calculations. That would be counter-intuitive.

Also, that's not what paradox means at all.

Science is not a matter of belief. It's a matter of evidence, and all the evidence points to the big bang. Pretty much every scientist working in a relevant field accepts the big bang, and it's used constantly when making models and calculations. So no, there's not a 'good portion' of scientists who don't accept it. That's a lie you have been told.

No physicist thinks the big bang didn't happen. If you went into a meeting claiming that you would be laughed out the room. What there is disagreement on is the very beginning. The first few instants. We know the big bang happened it's still happening today but the details on what went on in the first million billion billion billionths of a second are pretty fuzzy. That's where the disagreement is. There are probably as many ideas on what happened during that period as there are theoretical physicists walking the Earth everyone has their own pet idea that's what theoretical physicists do.

There's a few holes in the theory.
Anyway, I like that show.
Morgan Freeman is the best narrator.

I'm sorry, I'm still waiting for you to explain why you think there is a paradox?

That's not a paradox.

I don't see the proposed paradox, but I will answer your question. There actually is an alternative to the big bang called "Brane Theory" where two spatial membranes collided releasing unimaginable quantities of energy, but the big bang does have substantial evidence, i.e. the cosmic microwave background. We know for a fact that the universe is expanding and the big bang explains it. The big mystery is how or why did it happen. That's a great show and I don't think that either episode is based solely on the beginning of our universe. The size and shape of the universe for example could be determined by how light moves in the universe and time may be infinite and extend beyond our universe and what it is doesn't have to be based solely on the big bang. I don't recall them beng based on the big bang.

By the way here's a link to the Brane Theory
