What can i use to make a time capsule?

My boyfriend and I want to make a time capsule. So if we last together we want to see our past, etc. But what I want to know is what is the best thing to use so when we bury it, it will last underground for a very long time. Anything at home we can use? Oh and where would be a good place to bury it? Please and Thank you.

Depending on the size you want to put in it.
But large PVC pipe with caps glued to the ends.

You might want to put things in plastic bags - better yet, if you have a seal-a-meal you can use that to remove a lot of the air in the bag to help slow down any decay of paper or photos. This will also keep it water tight as well.

Where to bury it? Well in a place you wont forget ;-)
But one idea is if you have an area under a living room window and plants some flowers over the top of it.

Time capsules for our lives are built in now. The internet never forgets or loses anything, and is rapidly accumulating pre-digital images, video and text that are newly made virtual time capsules.

But Every place I have ever lived I left a tiny time Capsule. The capsule is a 35mm film cannister (not so easy to come by since I have shot digital fo the last 10 years). The artifacts vary - but usually a strip of negatives, some coins, and written note that tells something about me and my life at the time and I make a couple of predictions about the future (The one I left in 1983 predicted common digital photgraphy by the year 2000 (just a little early) but I thought we would buy digital 'film packs' that went into our existing film cameras and then had the photos made into prints or slides at a lab) . The next one I do will probably contain a jump drive full of stuff.

I do not bury the micro time capsule, I place it inside an interior wall or under a floorboard of where I live. Most will never be found. And I don't have access to any of them. I Once left one in a car I traded in, (I wish I still had that 72 Torino, but I digress)
