Earth only has one satellite body formally classified as a moon. Earth's Moon was named in a time when no one had any idea that other moons might even exist...hence it gets the name Moon with a capital M.

No one who speaks the English language calls the moon "Luna", except for science fiction writers.

For moons in general, do a search on the topic of "Natural Satellite".

The first four moons (natural satellites) discovered orbiting another planet are named:
Io
Europa
Callisto
Ganymede

Earth has seven moons: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. Disney named the seven dwarves after them. The one we see at night is of course Sneezy. Every time Sneezy sneezes it results in ocean tides. We can't see the other moons because they turned invisible after the wicked witch of the west laid a curse on them.

You can't find any research on this subject because scientists do not want to piss the wicked witch of the west.

This message will self-destruct in five seconds or three millenia, whichever comes later.

Usually Earth has only one moon, called Moon. Sometimes it is called Luna, and more rarely Diana (Roman goddess of the moon) or Selene (Greek goddess of the moon), but usually only science fiction authors use those names for the Moon.

Earth occasionally has a second moon called Cruithne. It's a temporarily captured asteroid. You can read more about it and see a diagram of its orbit in Wikipedia

-
The Earth has one natural satellite, it's proper name is "the Moon." (Notice capitalization).

You might have heard of "Earth's second Moon," an asteroid named Cruithne. This object, however, does not orbit Earth at all, the flawed terminology stuck, for whatever reason, and still causes some confusion. As you can see from the orbit diagram, Cruithne is not a satellite of the Earth, it orbits the Sun, and nothing else.
