almost everyone says there is nothing beyond the universe. but i don't understand the meaning of this NOTHING.doesn't there have to be something beyond the universe? even if there is NOTHING, isn't NOTHING nothing but space?
-
Not everyone says that most people say;
we don't freakin know
the universe is infinite
there are multiple universes
ect.
The people who say the universe is finite and there is nothing out side the universe use the word nothing sort of liberally. If you take that word literally then yes that doesn't make sense.
Another way to look at it is there is infinite nothingness and yes you could probably think of that as space, within that nothingness our universe of stuff is expanding to fill the void.
But then the concept of an infinite void doesn't make sense hence the rational behind using the word nothing literally. Perhaps people tend to believe this because our minds are finite and we tend to want to put everything in a box.

Universe means one word which includes everything...
so if ur talking abt the edge of our known universe, the space is still inside the universe... who defines the boundary of universe??
and beyond the space there is no space and time that means it just makes no sense talking about anything outside universe, because there is no such thing as outside universe.

No one really know about it.. Science is all about speculation and guesses. Even formulas that were derived for some purpose might not really work sometimes but we use it cause it works most of the time. Though thats not applicable every time. Universe is way beyond our reach but think about the things that are close to us. Even the structure of an atom is not fully understood yet. So we really don't know things :)

no space no time no matter no string theory no entropy no energy NOTHING WHATSOEVER. Notice everything i said exist withing the universe.
-
No. Space is something. The universe by definition is everything that exists. There's no such thing as nothing.
-
Whatever you see & wherever you can go is inside universe.NOTHING MEANS 'THERE IS NO SPACE & TIME OUTSIDE UNIVERSE'
-
Nothing is the only way to make everything.
