I know, sounds ridiculous. See, I'm 15 and I am physically fit. I am pretty developed for a 15 year old, and I had a dream. A cougar was attacking someone (i'm gonna say my girlfriend for dramatic effect) and as it lay on top of them attempting to maul them, I jumped on its back and proceeded to wrap my arms around it's neck and squeeze as hard as I can. I woke up soon after I hopped on it and got into action, so I was wondering how it may turn out. I can imagine that being enough to choke it, as long as I use all my strength to wrap around and choke the living daylights out of it. I know they have a vicious bite and claws that will tear into me, but as long as they aren't fatal I could resist stopping from pain. In drastic situations I ignore pain until the havoc is gone. I'm looking for personal opinions, but I would like a professionals view. If so, would it work on any other ferocious felines, such as pumas or tigers? I won't include lions, thats ridiculous. And I already know the answer for tigers.

It is extremely unlikely, most likely impossible. If the cat is attacking someone, it will be in attack "mode". You would not be able to over power a big cat in this state. You may be able to distract it long enough for your girlfriend to get to safety, and may survive, but you would not over power it, unless you had a powerful weapon.

Unless you had a really good defense weapon like a gun and can shoot in the blink of an eye, no.

No you're reffering to predators like tigers, lions, hyenas, cougars, etc. These animals are extremely ferrous experts killers much like sharks are in the water and aren't stupid enough to leave there backs turned to unsuspecting infiltrators these kind stalk their prey with intent to kill and are relentless once they pursue their target just like a shark so your asking if you tried to attack your odds of survival would not be good as humans aren't born killers like predators are so you come ruining let's say they would hear your movement and do a 180 a b-line then jump claw and bite you till your bleeding to death on the ground then bite off your limbs, head, etc. Don't ever think of messing with any predator your question is like asking could I fight a shark bare-handed in the water ah no the shark would bite you till most of the blood has left your body and never let go until he tears your arm off or has bitten you to death.
