Why is the weather in Denver, Colorado as warm as 26C on one day and as cold as -2C on the next day, especially in around October?
Does Denver get a certain wind coming from somwhere making daytime temperatures actually drop by 28C overnight onto the next, it just sounds a little extreme to me, but what is the cause?
Thank you for all answers

CarolOklaNola say: This happens because a high pressure weather system with a cold front moves in . weather systems often move from north west to southeast. This happens in central Oklahoma. I, be seen the temperature go from 93 degrees F to 28 degrees F in central Oklahoma, and a more than 20 degree F drop in 20 minutes in New Orleans.

ShalloWhale say: The only reason is because of the altitude of Denver; the air is thin.

Jim say: Denver is a prairie city. Prairie cities tend to have temperatures all over the map, especially in Autumn and Winter. I doubt that it has anything to do with global warming.

TQ say: The reason why the weather in Denver, Colorado is as warm as 26C on one day and as cold as -2C on the next day, especially in around October is related directly to the passage of a continental Arctic or continental Polar cold front.
In general ... the southerly winds found ahead of the front draw warm area into the area. Northerly wind behind the front associated with a fresh Polar or Arctic air mass brings in much colder air.
