I live in central illinois, and it has not snowed yet. The most we have had are flurries. It has barely been freezing. Lately it has been in the 50s. I want to know why? I'm not complaining, lol, just wondering if its ever going to get cold.

There is something called the jet stream which is a constant air flow around the globe, this separates differences of pressure. Low pressure allows precipitation and high pressure makes disrupts an area that could experience precipitation, that is how hurricanes maintain strength - the lower the pressure, the stronger they are. In this case, there aren't as many cold fronts that are making the temperature cold enough at the right time for an area of low pressure. So rain is more likely in this case.

Theres something called the Greenland Block. I'm not quite sure how it works, you can look it up, but when it's in effect we don't get as much snow in December and get hit hard in January, but theyre saying not much snow at all.
