So to work out % efficiency we do:
Useful Power output / Total Power input x100%
The Useful Power output will be the amount of electrical power we get. Using the formula P=IV, we get P = 2.1x0.5 = 1.05W
The Total Power input will be the amount of light we get. If we get 0.1 Watts on each cm squared, then on 80 of them we will get 0.1 x 80 = 8W
Putting these numbers into the original equation:
% Efficiency = 1.05 / 8 x 100% = 13.125%
