How do i split the atom

my mum went and bought me and atom at k-mart today and its still in its bag i was wondering how to split the atom, 10 points for best answer

First, take one large axe...

Although it can be split with a very sharp knife, most atoms sold at k mart are presplit like muffins.
so look closely for the line where the electrons don't cross.
This is very similar to cutting a diamond.
place the atom very carefully on your chopping block with this split mounted vertically.
Unfortunately the atom doesn't stay in this orientation for long so you have to act very quickly.
Now a quick sharp blow and there you have it.
Two smaller atoms.

Take a lot of care with this. Unless you get it dead centre you get one light and one heavy piece.
Which may well be radioactive.

I should point out that some people prefer to make their atom last longer by a different process.
Instead of splitting it which is all over too quickly they like to pare it down.

Instead of pushing the knife through the middle, they slide the knife around the edge cutting off tiny bits which are alpha particles or beta particles as they go.

In this way they can extend their fun for a much longer time.

Drop a hydrogen bomb on it.
