What is the average velocity

(32-16)/10=2.4 m/(s*s),Back to the displacement, d= (1/2)(2.......
A car moving eastward along a straight road increases its speed uniformly from 16m/s to 32m/s in 10.0s. What is the car's average velocity?

Also, how far did the car move while accelating?

Thanks!

The average velocity is given by the formula, where V is velocity (Vinitial + Vfinal)/2
Therefore, (16+32)/2=24m/s east

To find the displacement of the car, we'll use the formula d=(1/2)at^2 +Vinitial*t, where a is acceleration and t is time.
Since we don't have acceleration, we have to find by doing (Vfinal-Vintial)/t
Therefore, (32-16)/10=2.4 m/(s*s), east

Back to the displacement, d= (1/2)(2.4)(10)^2 + (16)(10)
d= 120+160
d=280 m
