Find the magnitude of his acceleration in m/s2 when he is running at a constant speed of 9.7 m/s.=>r = 200/(2 x 3.=>r = 31.=>a = (9.7)^2/31.......
A runner is running on a circular track, which is 200 m in circumference. Find the magnitude of his acceleration in m/s2 when he is running at a constant speed of 9.7 m/s.

-
given 2πr = 200
=>r = 200/(2 x 3.14)
=>r = 31.85 m
=>By a = v^2/r
=>a = (9.7)^2/31.85
=>a = 2.95 m/s^2

When an object's velocity changes, it accelerates. Acceleration shows the change in velocity in a unit time. Velocity is measured in meters per second, m/s, so acceleration is measured in (m/s)/s, or m/s2, which can be both positive and negative.

-
If his speed is a constant 9.7 m/s there is no acceleration.

By the way....9.7 m/s = 21.7 miles per hour. I sure hope this guy is going to try out for the Olympics.
Anything over 4 miles per hour is record breaking speed.
