It is probably because you never looked at physics outside of what you learned at school. Schools tend to focus on the tedious mathematics, so that you can learn to solve problems quickly. Physics is much more than that. I recommend watching some documentaries on astrophysics or subatomic particles. They are math-free and they simply convey the ideas without all the boring mathematical details. Perhaps you will then appreciate the beauty of physics. Here is a good example:

Keep in mind, i'm not saying that the actual mathematics behind it are unimportant, but sometimes you should take a step back and look at the big picture instead of focusing on the details.
