it spelled Aerodynamically and Yes they can - Due to fact there wings can generate more lift than gravity can hold them down ( basically it you can generate 300 pounds of lift and you weigth 100 pound what is going to happen - Answer you go up) However at the time when scienctist where studying them they couldn't see how the bumble bees generate there lift due to fact that there flapping wings move too fast for them accurately calculate what the lift is - It was so poorly understood that was why people thought it was impossible for them to do that , until high photography and supercomputer model finally cracked how they do it
