A car can accelerate from rest to a speed of 120 mph in 1/4 mile. How many seconds does this take

120.tt= (1/4)/60= 1/240 hour= 15 second.-Assuming uniform acceleration,60miles per hour = 1 mile per minute.......
Please show how you get the answer!

-
Initial speed Vo = 0
Final speed = V=120 mph.
Distance = S = 1/4 mile.
V=Vo+at
120 = 0 + at
at=120 ---(1)
S = Vo.t+½a.t²
1/4= 0 +½at² (2)
Substitute (1) into (2)
1/4=½,.120.t
t= (1/4)/60
= 1/240 hour
= 15 second.

-
Assuming uniform acceleration, average speed = (0+120)/2 = 60mph
60miles per hour = 1 mile per minute.
So 1/4mile takes 1/4of a minute = 15seconds
