Stop right there. You might as well have just quit typing when you said "who is 4". Is this your first child? Children have notoriously overactive imaginations, and routinely worry about monsters under the bed, so that the very phrase "monsters under the bed" has become part of the vernacular. You can't take anything a 4 year old as gospel. They are unable to tell the difference between fantasy and reality. They believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Why? Because they have been taught to. Now guess what's making your child worry about bad men. Either he's picked it up from you, while you're watching horror movies he's not supposed to see or hear but probably does anyway, or it's just part of that overactive imagination. Monsters under the bed aren't real. That's the message you should be teaching the child. Investing in the story, as you seem to be doing, is quite frankly harmful, and irresponsible of you. You're the adult. It's *your* job to teach the child there are no monsters. It isn't his job to teach you there *are*. Jesus Christ. You're the adult--start acting like one. When you run around, afraid of shadows in your own house, don't you realize the effect it will have on this child?

I'm not attacking your beliefs, and I'm sorry if it seems like I'm taking a big bite out of your butt, but you're not the important party here--the child is. Believe whatever you want. Even if you are 100% convinced that there are ghosts in your house, though, it's *still* your job as a parent to convince your child that there aren't. Now he's afraid of flickering lights. How did *that* happen, I wonder? You need to chill, Jill.

You need to consult professional help for your child. I'm not with this ghost ****. But, if a 4 year old is saying things like that to you, time to go to the doctors.
