various seeds and even flowers left out on the short table (preferably of a sturdy treated wood) serves as an offering to the fairies as well as sprites though the fountain will bring water sprites, and if you sit in the area frequently enough you will find that muses will visit as well. However, as my aunt warns every generation that reaches the age where they spend a summer with her learning to find herbs and roots then how to use them, before you toss out water or anything from your door or onto the ground, always call out to warn the fairies and sprites and muses along with any other creatures so they can move before you toss anything out.......
Set up an area of your yard with lots of flowering plants, a privacy fence for vine-growing plants such as roses or lilies, add a fountain with water, and set out a small short table where you can leave a special plate or tin with various cuts of fruit, vegetables and other goodies. It's best to have it set up in a private, somewhat closed yet inviting area and they will come. If there is room plant an area with herbs and roots and be sure to add mint to your little herb garden along with lavender for luck.

However, as my aunt warns every generation that reaches the age where they spend a summer with her learning to find herbs and roots then how to use them, before you toss out water or anything from your door or onto the ground, always call out to warn the fairies and sprites and muses along with any other creatures so they can move before you toss anything out. If you don't, you will find that things will begin to go missing like car keys, hair pins, brushes, your purse or wallet, eye-glasses, etc...

We had to take down our privacy fence because the wood was rotted and haven't had time nor the money to build it back; however, before I toss out wash water or mop water, etc... I still call out ahead of time leaving plenty of time for them to move out of the way because I lose things bad enough on my own. I don't need the wee spirits upset with me enough to start moving things on me intentionally because I wasn't attentive enough to warn them before tossing out wash water or shaking the dust or debris from scatter rugs, or tossing out mop water, etc....

I've done this my entire life as it's like second-nature, just as I sweep my house from east to west the last day of the year then burn the broom and purchase a new one that I use to sweep the house from east to west the first of the year to bring positivity as I used the old broom to sweep out all the negativity from the previous year, then burned it to ensure the negativity doesn't find it's way back into my home. My gran used to have us sweep her yard from east to west the last day of the year before burning the broom although her brooms didn't have handles per se, they were made from straw that was tightly bound with twine and the broom was then burned completely after the house and the yard had been completely swept and the new brooms were made, again tying the straw in tight bundles using twine, which were given out to my great-aunties as well as my aunts, Mother, Mom, cousins who had their own homes at the time, and Gran's best friends.

Gardens of veggies, fruits, and flowers work. But so does sharing wine with them. Sprinkle a bottle around your garden, and flower beds.

-
Fairies are imaginary, so it shouldn't matter what method you try.
