I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about them, but I am really interested in letting spirits in. Good and even the bad ones. No I'm not a satanist, nor a christian, but I see both sides on an equal perspective, I want to learn more about the afterlife. I don't believe in god really, but I do believe there are higher powers and spirits out there. I also want to know if someone could be possessed with an angel. You always hear about people getting possessed by demons, what about angels? Why doesn't anyone get possessed by angels? Does that mean that the dark side is much more powerful than the bright side? I'm really interested in this stuff! Please don't tell me to bring in the holy water and stuff, I'm just interested in getting in touch with spirits. I know a lot of people will tell me not to mess with this stuff, but I really am interested. Thank you.

Do they work? Yes, and no. :)
I think they are like other things in life. If you do it right, believe, and are open, then yes. If you counter this, by negative thoughts, then no, you're wasting your time. I cannot think of a good example to use, but I'm sure there is one that would help explain this. They are like a loaded gun, in some ways. Even a baby can use one to mess up. An expert can do good, or bad. But, if one thing is off, like not cocking the hammer, it won't work even for a fool.
For the most part, we can toss religion out the window here. It doesn't matter what you believe, there is something out there, on the other side, of what we know. Religion and myths about ghosts would not exist if it didn't.
Now, that "equal perspective" stuff is iffy. I won't say wrong, as there IS a balance, but that is about it. If you hook up with a demon, it won't be trying to do evil to help the world or give you another perspective. Just like the rapist or murderer, it will do harm to you for it's own reason, whatever that may be. It may just be to make your life hell. Christians aren't the only ones with a thought (if you can call it that) on this.
