Ted, the spirit beings at people´s homes are demons. Why are they here? Very early in the history of mankind, some angels had to be punished by God. Later they were finally expelled from the heavenly realm and they´re confined to the vicinity of the earth. -Revelation 12:7-9, 12.
In the near future, they´re gonna be imprisoned and finally destroyed by God. (Revelation chapter 20). But right now they coexist here with us.
We cannot kill them since they´re spirit beings. Because of that the Bible says we have a fight against wicked spirit beings:
Ephesians 6:11, 12:
Put on the complete suit of armor from God that YOU may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Devil; 12 because we have a wrestling, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.
How can you win this fight?
First get rid of anything related to the occult and spiritism. This also means getting rid of the mystical and superstitious paraphernalia. This includes amulets used for "protection." So do not use the Bible as an amulet.
The only being the demons fear is Jehovah God. The Bible says at James 2:19:
"You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder."
Therefore pray aloud to Jehovah God, through Jesus, to get this wicked spirit out of your home and out of your life. It´s important that you use God´s name, Jehovah, when you say your prayer.
The apostle Paul said: “With every form of prayer and supplication . . . carry on prayer on every occasion in spirit.” (Ephesians 6:18) Since we live in a world full of demonism, earnestly praying to Jehovah for his protection is essential in resisting wicked spirits. Hence, we should keep on praying to God to “deliver us from the wicked one,” Satan the Devil. (Matthew 6:13) Jehovah will answer such earnest prayers.—Psalm 145:19.
Also strengthen our faith by studying the Bible. It´s not gonna be an easy fight, but with time it´s gonna leave you and your home alone.
James 4:7, 8:
Subject yourselves, therefore, to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from YOU. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU.
