Is time travel really impossible ?
Will scientists ever find a way for time travel to be possible ?

answers:
Megumi say: Yes, it is quite impossible unless you refer to moving ahead 24 hours in one day.
-
Amelie say: Maybe-
-
ALBERT say: Yes it is in my humble limited scientific opinion! The hand of seconds is ALWAYS moving forward no matter what. In hard times it may seem to go slowly and in other times much faster. Although we might be able to experience what the past was like or in some cases what the future might hold for us, depending on our actions, our present actions, we cannot go back in the past and make any changes! In case that would have been possible you would think that men would have a long time ago went to correct the original mistakes of our forefathers and saved us a lot of grief down the road. But, on the other hand can we not , in our present time find ways to live a lifestyle that can indemnify the mistakes of the pasts?

Jake say: Forward yes, backward, tough to say....
-
Second Coming say: I am currently traveling into the future at this very moment. Quite common, as I understand. Backing up is the tough bit, reverse is not an option at the moment. Perhaps one day, never know.

-
Jeffrey K say: You can travel into the future. If you go near the speed of light and then come back, due to relativity time dilation, you would age a little bit while earth ages hundreds of years.
Time travel backwards in time is impossible. Its not just our lack of technology or knowledge. Backward time travel would cause contradictions like the Grandfather Paradox. Nature can not permit a paradox.
Theoretical ideas like wormholes, warp drive, rotating cylinders, or cosmic strings all have problems which make them impossible. Most need negative energy or exotic matter. Quantum effects might make the others impossible.

Pearl L say: i dont think its possible
-
Will say: Yes. All you need to do is cross the timezone boundaries
-
Murzy say: maybe

Hunter say: I wouldn't believe everything scientists tell you. Such folks are terribly short-sighted; they have no vision or imagination to anticipate the future and they are always quick to forget that they are nearly as wrong about things as they are right. So, who knows? Somebody might discover how to do it ten years from now-- or maybe it is impossible. But as rule, in an infinite universe such as ours, nothing is impossible. I say, just give it some time. The problem is, we don't understand what time really is. So if someone invents time travel, it will probably be by accident.
-
BENARD say: just cross the international date line east or west you will see how possible time travel is
-
lanni say: Who knows
-
Melinda say: Interesting question. I looked it up once. Scientists believe yes, but they can only create wormholes about the size of a quarter that are stabilized. They aren't large enough even for lab rats yet so technically that means...no. They open and close without warning or any way to test and prove where they go and how they affect those who enter them to travel to another time..
-
The Donald say: Yes, go to a mountain top where time is slower than at sea level.
-
Atheist Dude say: Yes at the moment but never say never in 1550 and 1600s 4K Ultra HD Smart TV would have thought to have been impossible or smartphones.
-
Gray Bold say: Time travel to the past is theoretically possible in certain general relativity spacetime geometries that permit traveling faster than the speed of light, such as cosmic strings, transversable wormholes, and Alcubierre drive. Einstein's theory of general relativity does suggest a scientific basis for the possibility of backward time travel in certain unusual scenarios, although arguments from semiclassical gravity suggest that when quantum effects are incorporated into general relativity, these loopholes may be closed.
-
J.B.Schneider say: Not in our current dimension. It is perhaps possible for God to move about in other dimensions and make changes in time, but not us. We are stuck in this physical dimension.
-
Tomi say: Only with knowledge and antiques.
-
Rain say: Yes, it would mean travelling faster than light – and that's not possible.
-
wobafetty say: Forwards time travel is probably within human reach, backwards time travel is more like impossible. Though forwards time travel wouldn't work like you might think it would. You'd have no control over the time. You can go visit different parts of space where time moves much faster. A day in one part of space could be a very long time in another. However if time flipped and you spent a very long time somewhere else only to come back and find a day passed on earth.. time still moved forward just at a much slower pace. It's good backwards time travel doesn't exist as it could cause madness and mayhem for our reality. If we ever invented backwards time travel EVER in potential human history we'd have come across a time traveller by now. It would be a bit like Rick and Morty. Great show. Look into the butterfly effect. If you went back and attempted to prevent 911 for instance you could return to your time and find you actually lead human history to ww3. 911 lead the USA to making MANY changes.. changes of which would never have existed if 911 didn't happen. Don't mess with time. It's the one thing you wouldn't want to break.

Daniel say: There are a lot of loophole and joke answers in this thread because no one can be sure. Keep this in mind though; if time travel is possible, it already exists.
-
Johnny Uzumaki say: It is possible
-
Kenneth say: good question
-
Suzzane say: Anything is possible
-
Chris Ancor say: I hope so.
-
ReductioAdAstronomicus say: Of course it is impossible.
The past is gone. Kaput. It doesn't exist to "travel" to.
You can't even travel to THE future. All you can do is glide along as a coherent assemblage of atoms along with all the other swirling gas and dust in the universe, then whatever situation you find yourself in at some later time is what we call A future.
The only way to get back to the past is by amassing a whole lot of antiques, old clothing and customs and then living in it. The rest of the past is gone and is no longer there to "travel" to.
-
dash say: Traveling into the past is impossible (sorry). But traveling into the future is DEFINITELY possible. According to Einstein's cool math equations, if you travel at the speed of light, you remain the same age and time works at the same speed as you. But for everyone else, years and years are going by. You could come back to earth tons of years in the future. So, yes, it is possible
-
marty say: Time travel is possible. For example, an object traveling at high speeds ages more slowly than a stationary object. This means that if you were to travel into outer space and return, moving close to light speed, you could travel thousands of years into the Earth's future.

-
Uddin say: By Quranic philosophy, Chapter Time ( Sureh Asr) - chapter 103
Whether we travel in time or not Humanity will always remain on fault, world is progressing towards destruction. those who believed, did good deeds and spread the truth and spread the message to patiently endure will get reward after that destruction.
Note: i don't want you to believe it, just telling you the opinion of second biggest religion of world.
-
Dave W. say: Yes it's impossible.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Time travel into the future is VERY possible. YOU are doing that RIGHT now at the rate of 1 second per second. Time travel into the PAST is impossible because of entropy, chaos theory and quantum mechanics. The Universe is becoming more chaotic and unordered because entropy. If your life is becoming more chaotic, it Is becoming .ore chaotic. Stroke a cat. If it purrs. You made something happy. The cat (or dog) understands how things are supposed to work.
