How do you calculate Specific Heat Capacity

which is 4200 J/kg•C. And then you use dimensional analysis.......
I was told that : 4200J of energy is needed to heat 1KG of water by 1 degree celcius.
They told me to work out : " How much energy is needed to heat 5.0kg of water from 20 degree to 60 degree "
I don't understand how to relate these two and work out the energy needed.
Please could you explain as clearly as you can!
Thank you for your time, hope you had a great Christmas :)

"4200J of energy is needed to heat 1KG of water by 1 degree celcius"
that is correct, except it is 1 kg.

You can calculate the specific heat of water from the number you have, which is 4200 J/kg•C. And then you use dimensional analysis.

E = 4200 J/kg•C x 5 kg x (60–20)C = 840000 J
