Doing a student project whereby a liquid is heated using different forms of energy. Water is the most readily available and effective liquid that i know of with a k value of 0.6 however are there any other liquids that have a higher value, or are there methods that can improve conductivity.
I thought about adding sediment such as rocks or metal which would also increase absorption although this may provide cost effective and they'd have to be small enough to flow freely throughout the water.

Oil is an effective liquid to use for thermal conductivity, certain anti-corrosive benefits above water make it the liquid of choice for may heating and cooling applications.
