well melatonin is a naturally produced hormone within the body and so you're not putting anything in your body that it isn't used to. you should exercise caution, however, not to take large amounts regularly. taking large amounts of any hormone will cause the body to eventually stop creating it. i'm talking large doses, though. taking a melatonin pill that you can get at walgreens won't do any damage and can do wonders in correcting any irregular sleep habits.

There's bide side effects reported with anything. Start at a low dose. I take 5mg every night. I took 10 once and didn't like how I felt.

I think that's a pretty safe choice. Very natural. You could always check with your doctor before starting it.
