This one person was talking about their genetic ethnic history (or something idk the exact term) but they said that their genes were "dilluted" in someways.
Its hard to explain, but the way they said it, it's possible for genes to overpower others until they no longer exist. is that true?
Example: if i were to pour a teaspoon of apple juice into orange juice, the orange juice would overpower the apple but wouldn't the apple still exist?
OR would the orange juice be dominant and the apple be recessive?...
I'm confused & curious...srry if its confusing.

By diluted they most likely mean that along with genes from one side of the family that they wanted, there were other genes in there as well.
As to genes overpowering others, what you have is this:
You have a random chance of getting one of the possible genes for each quality from your mother and a random chance of getting one of the possible genes for each quality from your father. Some genes are dominant. This means that if you had a gene for blue eyes from your mother but a gene for brown eyes from your father, the gene for brown eyes would be dominant and you would have brown eyes. You would keep the gene for blue eyes but it would not be active.
When you have children, they have a random chance of either getting the brown eyes gene from you or the blue eyes gene. If your child gets the brown eyes gene, because it is dominant they will have brown eyes. If they get the blue eyes gene, one of two things will happen. If your partner passes on a gene for brown eyes, the child gets brown eyes, but if they also pass on the gene for blue eyes, there is no other gene to dominate over it and the child will have blue eyes.

It's possible. One good example would be a tortoise that has been extinct for awhile now. There's still mix breeds found so the scientists are currently trying to bring them back to pure blood and they have some good results.
