hey guys, I have been thinking about becoming a doctor for a long time and it still is an option for me. However I have been on countless websites and they all tell me different, new things about being and becoming a doctor, so I thought I would ask all of you. What is it really like to be or becoming a doctor? What were your struggles, is it fun or stressful, boring, exciting? How do you handle stress, was the whole journey worth it, if you went back to day one of college would you still pick being a doctor, was getting into med school hard, what helps your application, what was the hardest thing you ever did, what did you enjoy, what did you hate? If you didn't make it into med school what did you do after that, why did you want to be a doctor in the first place, do you talk to your colleges a lot at the hospital, And anything else you can think of!! I don't care if your answer is a page I really just want to know anything and everything about being a doctor!! Also on a side note
What is the difference and what is a resident and an attending?

Being a doctor can be EXTREEEMELY stressful. For example you will have to deal with things like; having 10 patients and once not knowing what is wrong and having to make a decision. Just knowing that your decision will mean live or die for them. When you are on call, (usually once every 3-4 weeks) you are expected to be working about 16-18 hour days for a whole week. If you like the thrill and adrenaline of these things, being a doctor is certainly for you.
Don't get me wrong, being a doctor is great. You get good holidays, a very nice salary, a lot of respect etc. Being a doctor is the most rewarding job and the feeling of knowing that you single handedly saved a patient due to your knowledge is the best feeling of all. Overall it depends what you like. However no doctor will regret being one. I hope my answer helped!!
