im a 14 year old female and my resting heart rate is 74 and my maximum is 180. is this a bad thing? most of my classmates have higher max heart rates and higher resting ones. is it better to have a lower or higher one?

It is a good thing to have a lower heart rate, that means that your heart pumps more blood with each beat. That means you have a stronger heart, and that your heart doesn't have to work as hard to pump enough blood to fuel your muscles.

You are perfectly fine & normal. Heart rates are normal within about 45-50 to about 100 (depending on a few things). Max HR is not really as easily quantitated.
