. But when I ran out he told me he wouldnt give me Xanax...........
I was on Zoloft and Ativan but felt like they weren't working then my doctor gave me Xanax but not a prescription just 20 pills from the pharmacy he got for me himself.... But when I ran out he told me he wouldn't give me Xanax..... Now I'm back on Ativan but I hate it should I see another doctor?

Xanax is more potent than ativan, and more addictive. It is much harder to quit xanax than ativan.

Go see another doctor. If what you are taking isn't working, you need something else. But don't think you absolutely have to have xanax - it is extremely addictive and the withdrawals can be severe. For that matter the withdrawals from ativan are also severe.

Go see a doctor. You need to get off of the benzos while you can. Find one that can help you without just shoving pills down your throat.
