I've had to stop taking it for a while now because of the dehydration from it. I drink plenty of water and gatorade while I'm on it, but I still get dehydrated.

I have also experienced this. Not only cottonmouth, but also serious dehydration. This seems to be more of a problem when I'm abusing the drug, but still happens when I take it as prescribed (I'm not accusing you of anything). Getting enough sleep at night and eating well (I've found it best to eat something small almost immediately after taking it) are probably the most important factors that you have control over (other than drinking lots of water of course, which is great for your body even though it can be very annoying). Other substances (legal or illegal doesn't matter once again I'm guilty of this and never pass judgement on others) can make you more easily dehydrated. I enjoy a cup of black coffee in the morning, usually shortly after taking my meds, and that makes dehydration worse. I also smoke cigarettes and used to smoke marijuana, both of which cause cottonmouth and physical dehydration. It could be your dose, it could just be how your body reacts to the drug. If the dehydration is severe enough that you had to stop taking it for a while, you might talk to your doc and consider trying alternative medications for whatever you are using this for (mine is for ADD). I hope it works out for you, adderall has improved my life in many areas.
