Now me and my bro were talking about the whole space mining thing and somehow we got to how the universe is constantly expanding and we were wondering what it would be like if we got to the edge of the universe, now that's not the question but feel free to answer that too. Well anyway, my bro said that, THAT was the fourth dimension, and so I said no its not so he said "explain". I couldn't. What I'm trying to say ask us could someone explain the fourth dimension ( if it even exists) and don't give me that spy kids 4d crap where you "smell" the movie, 'cause that's just weird. well the 4th dimension is the time. it is essential to represent the 4th dimension because whatever you see is not the object that you see in that particular time. you see it late because of lagging time of light travel. you see objects that were before several minutes or days or something .. hence it is essential to represent the time of an object when you have witnessed it.

I think you are looking for 4D space. well to answer this is somewhat hard for a few reasons but yes 4D is a real thing. We live within a 3 diamensional world, with the 3 diamentions represented usally by x,y,z. But in a 4D world another is added, to construct a 4D shape in our univerise is basically impossible, but thats the magic of imagination. Few people can, but the trick is to imagine yourself as a 2D creature living in a 2D world. think of how you would imagine a 3D shape and use the same method to get to 4 and even 5D. google tesseract are for a 4D shape though.
