-3 + 4√13,would appreciate the steps into getting the answer.Half the value of -6x, that will give you -3. Now square that and you will get 9,As the two sets of brackets are identical,......
a. 3 - 4√13, 3 + 4√13
b. -3 - 14√13, - 3 + 14√13
c. -4√13, 4√13
d. 3 - 14√13, -3 + 5√13
e. -3 + 4√13, -3 - 4√13

would appreciate the steps into getting the answer. thanks

Move all the "x" terms to one side and the other values to the other:

x^2 - 6x = 199

Half the value of -6x, that will give you -3. Now square that and you will get 9, so add 9 to both sides:

x^2 - 6x + 9 = 208

Factor it out:

(x - 3) (x - 3) = 208

As the two sets of brackets are identical, combine them into a square:

(x - 3)^2 = 208

Square root both sides:

x - 3 = ± √208

Add 3 to both sides:

x = 3 ± √208

Simplify the radical:

x = 3 ± 4√13
