John makes 2000 less than Peter so he is p - 2000. Michael makes 7000 more than Peter so he is p + 7000. Next you make an equation: 3p - 2000 + 7000 = 49000. Then you do the equation.p = about 1466.67 (14666.......
John, Peter and Michael earn together 49000 dollars per month. John earns 2000 dollars less than Peter and Michael earns more than 7000 dollars Peter per month.
How much do each one earn?
Please show how you calculated it with detail :) Thanks

First you assign Peter person a variable say p for Peter. John makes 2000 less than Peter so he is p - 2000. Michael makes 7000 more than Peter so he is p + 7000. Next you make an equation: 3p - 2000 + 7000 = 49000. Then you do the equation.

3p - 2000 + 7000 = 49000
3p + 5000 = 49000
(-5000) (-5000)
3p = 44000
(/3) (/3)
p = about 1466.67 (14666.666~)

Therefore Peter make $14666.67.
Michael makes $14666.67 + $7000, which is $21666.67.
John makes $14666.67 - $2000 which is $12666.67.
