When, in real life, do we use imaginary numbers

If they're not real numbers, then why learn them? What do we use them for?

You use any electricity? Anything that plugs in and uses AC, alternating current? Use radios, TV's, cell phones, computers? All that hangs on imaginary numbers. See the link for a simple intro.
