If the root is (2+i),If the root is (2-i), the factor is x - (2-i)-If youre trying to make a function, and you were given (2 + i),And square roots always come in positive and negative pairs,So foil (2+i)(2-i) and thats your answer.......
Just a general question, if you were given the root 2 + i, I know that to write an equation the 2 + i would become x - (2 + i). What if you were given the root 2 - i? Would the root become x + (2 - i)?

-
If the root is r, the factor is x - r
If the root is (2+i), the factor is x - (2+i)
If the root is (2-i), the factor is x - (2-i)

-
If youre trying to make a function, and you were given (2 + i),

i = √-1
And square roots always come in positive and negative pairs, so i (in this case) = ±√-1
So foil (2+i)(2-i) and thats your answer.
