The gradient is the number beside x, and the y-intercept is the number behind including the sign.

y=4x-2

Gradient = 4, y-intercept = -2

x-5y-3=0

5y = x-3
y = 1/5x - 3/5

Gradient = 1/5, y-intercept = -3/5

y= 3-x
y= -x + 3

Gradient = -1, y-intercept = 3
