If the Vector MN is 4x vector LM (LM=4MN), and they are co-linear, then the point M divides LN in the ratio?
Confused - would it be 4:1 or 1:4? Not good with ratios D:

You wrote that MN is 4x vector LM. Then you wrote LM = 4MN. These statements are contradictory. We need to clear that up before we can answer your question properly.
If a point P is one third of the way along a line from A to B (ie. it is closer to A) then P divides AB in the ratio 1:2.

So if LM = 4MN then your diagram should have M between L and N, and M should be closer to N. M divides LN in the ratio 4:1.
