95 x 30/100 = $8.95 x 0.3 = $2.685. which rounds to $2.69.......
This may be stupid but I googled this and I don't know what 30% something that is $8.95 dollars is! I forgot how to calculate it, and I have lots of stuff I need to calculate so please tell me how to calculate it. Also, if you can, please tell me what it is if you can't tell me how to figure it out. Thanks :))

to find what x% percent is of something, multiply it by x/100

30% of $8.95 = $8.95 x 30/100 = $8.95 x 0.3 = $2.685. which rounds to $2.69.

Remember that any percentage can be converted to a decimal by diving by 100.........
1% = 0.01 = 1/100
10% = 0.1 = 1/10
25% = 0.25 = 1/4
50% = 0.50 = 1/2

and so on.

-
1) convert the percent to decimals (25% = .25)
2) Percent times base is the amount (PB=A)
3) plug in the two numbers that you know and calcualte the third.

Note: the item after the worf OF is always the base

(.3)(8.95) = A

A= 2.685

-
Take .3 x $8.95 = $2.685 (or $2.68 or $2.69 depending on what rounding rules you are using).

-
30% of $8.95 = $8.95*30/100=$2.685
