4.5.6.use quadratic to get exact answer!!!......
Help pleaaase?
1. (3)(log base 2)(x-1) + (log base 2)(4) = 5
2. log(2x) - log(x-3) = 1
3. Ln x + ln (x+2) = 4
4. (log base 4)(x^2 - 9) - (log base 4)(x +3) = 3
5. 3^(2x) + 3^(x) - 2 = 0
6. 3^(x) - 14 times 3^(-2x) =5

any help is greatly appreciated(:

-
1) l2g((x-1)^3) + l2g(4) =5
l2g(4*(x-1)^3)=5
4*(x-1)^3 = 2^5
(x-1)^3 = 8
x-1 =2
x=3

2) log(2x^2 -6x) = 10
2x^2 -6x =10
use quadratic to get exact answer!!!!
x= 4.192582404
x = -1.192582404

3) ln(x^2 +2x) =e^4
x^2 +2x =e^4
use quadratic to get exact answer!!!!
x= 6.456416702
x = -8.4516702

4) l4g (x^3 + 3x^2 -9x -27) = 4^3
x^3 + 3x^2 -9x -27= 64
using calc
x= 4.225775729
x= -3.612887865 +- 2.912309905 i

5) 3^(2x) + 3^(x) - 2 = 0
(3x)^2 + 3X -2 =0
let u = 3x
u^2 +3u -2 =0
u= .5615528128
u=-3.561552813
x= u/3 (please substitute)

6) u= 3x
x -14 *x^-2 =5
use numerical method

one solution is u=5.468207221

x = 1.82273574 answer
